Biography
Dividing her time between Los Angeles and New York, Olivia Malone draws out of the specificity of her subject. Chasing after newfound combinations of light and texture, Malone explores the abstract and sculptural possibility of photography. This interest was fully realized in her monograph Tonal, published and distributed worldwide by Libraryman Books in 2020. A study in color, Tonal played with fragmentation and details to create an uncanny and embodied spectrum of the female form. With this particular lens, her work has been published in Interview, Vogue and the New York Times; she has also worked with brands like Adidas, Levi’s, Glossier, Sephora, and Chanel. Never one to back down from a challenge, she has added director of photography and director to her resume, first shooting Miley Cyrus’s “We Can’t Stop” music video and going on to direct films for several brands and recording artists.
